Rev. William S. Harbison  - Pastor

Rev. William S. Harbison began his ministry at St. Luke’s on June 18, 2007. Prior to being called to St. Luke’s, Rev. Harbison served for eight years at First Presbyterian Church in Tomball, Texas. He was ordained February 19, 1996 and previously served churches in South Carolina and New York. In addition to pastoral work, he has served as Director of Camps and Conferences for Foothills Presbytery in Greenville, SC and Assistant Camp Director of Camp Wilmot in Danbury, New Hampshire.

Rev. Harbison's higher education path began with his B. S. from Mississippi State University, an M.A. in Christian Education from The Presbyterian School of Christian Education, and his M. Div. from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Ministries involving camp leadership, youth, recreation, and young adults in the New Covenant Presbytery for the past 10 years have tapped his enthusiastic and energetic talents. This enthusiasm is one of the many gifts he brings to St. Luke’s.

His unique gifts to serve and create relationships include the ability to listen, to bring a sense of joy to his ministry, and to lend a sympathetic ear as one ready to listen and teach as well as learn from those whom God places in his path.

Rev. Harbison and his wife, Debbie, live in Houston in the Spring Branch area. He is father to three wonderful daughters. He is a family-involved Dad who loves learning with all three of his daughters. A true sports fan, Rev. Harabison is a big follower of the Houston Texans, the Astros and The Bulldogs of Mississippi State.
