Sunday Morning Classes

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Join us for church school classes each Sunday morning from 9:00 - 9:45 a.m.  Classes are offered for children, youth, and adults.

The classes for all ages are focused on integrating Biblical truth into our lives and relationships in light of the pressures and demands of contemporary society.

St. Luke's has a bright, well-maintained nursery to care for infants and toddlers.  Professional nursery workers (all Red Cross certified in infant/child CPR and First Aid) are ready to care for your children each Sunday morning beginning at 9:30 and continuing through the 10:00 a.m. worship service (ending around 11:00 a.m.).

CURRENT CLASS OFFERINGS:

Adult Class in church library:
How Jesus Became God" - Great Courses. Lessons include watching and discussing videos in the Church Library.  Transcripts of presentations are provided for class members to highlight, insert observations, and write questions for group discussion. The class discussions are facilitated by Beth Stanaland and Patti Ernst.  This is an opportunity for Adults to discuss Christian faith in a relaxed and non-intimidating setting.

Youth - Fifth Grade + "Serendipity Bible"- The youth, many of which just completed confirmation class, study Bible texts with questions for text printed in the margin of the "Serendipity Bible".  The questions go from ice breaker, to knowledge, and finally to deeper faith questions.  In addition to their studies the class functions as a Youth Group as well.  There are events outside of class and during class in which the class will engage in volunteer work (Grace Bags, worship functions, Church raffles, etc.) and fellowship (Dave and Busters, etc). This class is led by our Pastor Scott Harbison.

Pre-K to Fourth Grade - One Room Classroom - We are using a continuation of the curriculum we have been using called "Leaper's Pointe".  This curriculum by Abingdon Press  is  titled "Deep Blue" for this upcoming semester.  Resources include arrival activities, group activities for hearing, understanding, and experiencing the Bible, activities to encourage contemporary application to the children's lives, worship activities, reproducible activity sheets, and DVD (video segment for each class along with Music Videos). This class provides a brilliant and relaxed format for your child to learn more about faith and belief in Jesus. This class is taught by Steve Hurysz, Karen Mayer, and Don Mims
