Rev. William S. Harbison – Pastor
Rev. William S. (Scott) Harbison began his ministry at St. Luke’s on June 18, 2007. Prior to being called to St. Luke’s Scott served for eight years at First Presbyterian Church in Tomball, Texas. He was ordained February 19, 1995, and previously served churches in South Carolina and New York. In addition to pastoral work, he has served as Director of Camps and Conferences for Foothills Presbytery in Greenville, SC, and Assistant Camp Director of Camp Wilmot in Danbury, NH.
Scott’s higher education path began with his Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State University, a Master of Arts in Christian Education from The Presbyterian School of Christian Education, and a Master of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Ministries involving camp leadership, youth, recreation, and young adults in the Presbytery of New Covenant for 10 years tapped his enthusiastic and energetic talents. This enthusiasm is one of the many gifts he brings to St. Luke’s.
His unique gifts to serve and create relationships include the ability to listen, to bring a sense of joy to his ministry, to lend a sympathetic ear, and to pastor to those in need. He is equally ready to teach as well as learn from those whom God places in his path.
Scott and his wife Debbie live in the Spring Branch area of Houston. He is father to three wonderful daughters. He is a family-involved dad who loves learning with his daughters. A true sports fan, he is a big follower of the Houston Texans, the Astros, and the Bulldogs of Mississippi State.
Marvin Gaspard – Director of Music/Organist-Choirmaster
Marvin Gaspard began serving as St. Luke’s Director of Music/Organist-Choirmaster in January 1996. His exceptional musical talents translate into St. Luke’s outstanding music program, unrivaled by other similarly sized churches. He is a published composer/arranger of both sacred and secular choral octavos, organ-piano duet books, and children’s folk music. Marvin is also jazz pianist for his Marvin Gaspard Trio and resident pianist for The Lyric Centre in the heart of Houston’s Theater District. Marvin has released five CD’s, three solo piano and two with jazz trio. A native of Abbeville, LA, he holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana.
Rev. Dr. Bill Wade – Parish Associate
Bill Wade joined the St. Luke’s staff in May 2003 as a Parish Associate. A graduate of both the University of Oklahoma and Union Seminary, New York, Bill is a professional counselor in private practice. He works with both couples and individuals and sees people with a variety of presenting problems.
He is married and has three grown children and 11 grandchildren. Bill enjoys participating in worship and teaching on a variety of subjects. He also enjoys playing the guitar and listening to blues and old-time rock ‘n’ roll.
Mary Ann White – Assistant to the Pastor
Mary Ann is a native Houstonian. She and her husband John met as students at the University of Houston in 1969. They have two adult children and two grandchildren in the Houston area that fill their lives with joy.
Mary Ann began her work at St. Luke’s on November 14, 2004, after 13 years serving another Presbyterian church in Houston. She loves spending time with her friends, cooking classes, traveling, and the theater.
Patti Ernst – Business Manager & Treasurer
Patti began serving St. Luke’s as Business Manager and Treasurer in early 2015. She also sings in St. Luke’s Chancel Choir.
Patti is retired from a career as a geologist and environmental consultant. She attended the Presbyterian School of Christian Education followed by a Bachelor of Geology degree from Purdue University and a Masters degree from the University of Houston.
